In the spring of 2026, during a six-week bus tour from Oulu to Chania and via E75 road to the Arctic Ocean, nine artists will present their works along the route. The E75 Art Bus is one of the major projects of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture year, embodying the European dimension through artistic collaboration.

During an artist residency in Sápmi land 2025, in the cities of Vadsø and Vardø, I sketched disability-political kites. Since there still isn’t a single country in the world where we can move accessibly alongside others, maybe flying is a better idea. I drew inspiration also from the 1941 film Dumbo, in which a marginalized and bullied baby elephant becomes accepted – not because he undergoes surgery or physical therapy – but only when others change their perceptions on his big ears. At the end of the film, Dumbo flies with his ears wide open, behind the circus train.
